Off Topic

I have to go off topic just because I don't think I can remember a December in Southern Alberta where it has been this warm! How warm is it? check out this pic:

we had a very warm Christmas and the snow is melting, wish it would last but like they say here, give it 5 minutes and the weather will change, ok maybe not that fast but the warmth can't last forever!

Christmas Present For Myself

Bought this on the first day of the 12 days of Christmas sale from Scrapbook.com, can't wait to get it hung up in my space! (It was such a great deal!!)

Mini Scrapbook

Using a recycled container I found that used to hold pills, I created the following fold out mini scrapbook for my mother for Christmas, it is truly amazing what you can do with recycled materials!

Another Layout Done!

I am on a roll now, it's like once I start I can't stop! This layout is of my daughter, the picture is circa 2003, but I just love it. Just a note, I will NEVER use this font again! Even with SCAL and my Xyron Create-a-Sticker the words were a pain in the behind to get off the cutting mat and then stick on the page.

WEDDING LAYOUT

Well I finally did it, I finally did the layout for my wedding (we've only been married almost 15 years guess it was about time!).  I think what actually kept me from doing it was trying to figure out a layout that would fit to a 12 x 12 page and nothing seemed to feel right until I found this:
if you can't read it in the picture it is called a Swinging Shutter page protector with 2 fold-out panels.  It allowed me to exactly what I wanted. So here are the pics of my final result:

I used a variety of items, from inks, stickers, buttons, ribbon, flowers, brads, and stamps and the papers are COLORBOK.  For tools, I used my new Xyron Create-A-Sticker (both the 2.5" and 5"), Cricut, SCAL, and Big Bite.  I really loved how the pages turned out.  Please feel free to leave comments.  Thanks.

New Toys!

I know Christmas is almost upon us, but I couldn't wait, I needed to get these!

XYRON 250 CREATE A STICKER

XYRON 500 CREATE A STICKER

The 250 is great for smaller items (such as Christmas gift tags! no ugly looking tape to be seen on the top of your gifts! The bigger one is perfect for large stickers and pictures.  I made my son some Super Mario stickers.  I printed the pics off the internet on photo paper, then cut them out and ran them through the machine.  SO EASY!!

I love these machines and the best part is no electricity and no heat! If you don't have one yet be sure to add it to your Christmas wish list!!

FINALLY A SCRAPBOOK DAY

Tomorrow 3 of my fabulous sisters will be invading my home to scrapbook!
My family started a tradition of making a 50th birthday scrapbook for each of us that hits that magic age, so far we have created 3 books and this one will be #4.  My brother turned 50 in January but we are having a party for him this summer.
So I am extremely excited that my sisters are coming, because I live away from them, but because I am battling Lupus Nephritis, they are coming to me.  How much do I love them??!!!

SO SORRY!

I have been a neglectful blogger as of late.  First of all I have been going through some medical stuff (Lupus and Chronic Kidney Disease) and then my sister passed away.

At any rate, I am now home for awhile, and am trying to make time to do some scrapbooking, cards, etc.
I will be posting my accomplishments as I go, but please bear with me.

Thank you to my followers, and if you would like to follow me on Twitter you can find me @albertagal75

I LOVE THIS SITE!

I mentioned this site in a post a couple weeks ago, but my order was so awesome I just had to write about them again!
With a slogan like "Keeping Memories Affordable" and delivering  quality merchandise I think I have died and gone to scrapbooker heaven!
The albums are beautiful, the paper is amazing and there are enough stickers and embellishments to keep me busy for awhile.
They are also on Facebook! You can find them here and the many testimonials on that page just want to make me keep going back!

Book 2 Underway!

After a weekend at my sister's house, we have managed to get 13 pages of my brother's 50th birthday book done! It was one crazy weekend of scanning, cropping, cutting and pasting, so much fun! Now to figure out when we can get back together to finish it.

February 3, 2011

It has begun...

My daughter and I have finally started a scrapbook together!
It's her first, and it's an "all about me" and the me being her....LOL
We have completed 4 pages so far and I am hoping to have pictures up soon.
It has been a great bonding experience for both of us, I get to tell her about the pictures and we brainstorm the layouts together.

SO MUCH FUN!

2011: my scrapping year!

I am planning (if all goes according to plan) to scrap as much as I can this year.  I was in need of a  few supplies to get me started and I found this site today!

Needless to say I had to place an order, the deals were just too good to pass up, and of course I had to share this site with all of you!

Happy Scrapping Everyone!

Feb 9, 2011:  I forgot to let you know that I received my order on Feb 7, it took a week from Michigan to Alberta! I love everything I received and I can't wait to shop at Scrapbuck again!
