Black & White Layout

Just finished this layout tonight, it is of my father's family, he was nine years old in this photo. I love scrapbooking old photos! The background I cut out using my Cricut and the SCAL program ( I know I know they don't work together anymore, but they do if you haven't upgraded your firm software!) I also used Tim Holtz's distressing technique for the photo mat, I love his inks! So here is the photo, hope you like it as much as I do.

sorry the picture is so grainy, it is so dark in my craft room (need to get some new lighting when I can afford it)(must stop buying scrapbook supplies!!!)

New Layout using an overlay

So I had purchased a pack of paper from Winners a few months ago, it contained paper that had a matching overlay for each sheet.  I had never used an overlay in any of my scrapbook projects before so I looked online on how to attach it to my page with the adhesive at all or showing through. So I combined a couple of the suggestions I found and used them for this page:

I used a mini glue dot under the center of the large dark blue flower and then put a sticker on top of the over lay, and I also used a mini glue dot under the  double flower and then put the double flower on top of the overlay.  The last thing I did to secure the top portion was a put brad on the top of the journaling label.  I first punched a small hole using my big bite and then put the brad through the overlay and the paper underneath.  I must also apologize for the picture quality, overlays are very difficult to take pictures of because they give off a glare.

New Layouts

Two more pages done, slowly but surely I am getting my photos scrapped!  The "Citrus" one is of my maternal grandparents, and the "Retro" one is of my brother Randy, all of them gone way too soon.

Speaking of New Products

In my last post I mentioned that I have this compulsion to buy new scrapbook supplies if I happen to get a good deal on them, well here is my latest purchase which came in the mail yesterday. I ordered from the Making Memories web site, they have great prices and pretty decent shipping costs. So excited to use my new products!

Scrap Room Rearranged (yes again!)

not quite a big change but I did have to move my paper storage to make room for my ribbon organizer that I got back in December (yup finally got it put up and filled it instantly too!) so here are few pictures (yes you may have noticed that I have acquired a few more products too, I just can't help myself, every time I see something I don't have and it's a good price I HAVE to get it!!

Techniques Video

I was browsing Youtube when I came across this little gem, it's a pretty quick video but gives some great tips on how to do some different inking techniques with paper for your scrapbook pages. As a newer scrapbooker (I have done scrapbooking for a long time, just not like how we do them now) I am always looking for new tips and tricks and this video is great, give it a watch. (click the words "little gem" above and it will take you to the video!)
Happy Scrapping!

Secret Project

I am currently working on a project for a member of my family, I can't say who it is because they may read my blog....LOL.  All I can say is that it is a first time doing this type of  project and so far it has been fun. When I am done I will take pictures and then when the gift is given I will post the pics.

On another note, being back at work has given me less time to do my crafts, yet it seems I have done more, how does that work? I am just happy to be able to do my crafts again, after the year from "HELL" last year I am so ready to have fun doing what I love.  I hope you like what you see and I will try and post more projects as they come across my lap.
